Image Analysis

This paper was my favorite assignment out of all the assignments we had to do this semester because I got to watch my favorite movie and analyze it. Also it was my favorite because it was a formal essay and I like writing those kinds of essays more than anything else we did in this class because it gives me more direction. I started writing this essay by watching The Breakfast Club and thinking of my thesis for this essay and my claim that I wanted to make. Watching the movie I noticed clear distinctions in class in the movie. I watched it again and noted all the comments made about class and wrote down the definitions of the stereotypes and how it had to do with their place in society. I wrote about the different stereotypes such as the princess, brain, athlete, criminal, and basket case. In addition, I broke down the differences in class even further to explain how the different social stratifications in the movie were the main focuses of the movie. I used a lot of examples from the movie to explain and emphasis my point because I truly believe this claim. Also this movie was a great example of the way people thought in the 1980s and how material possessions controlled their lives. The reason for all the stereotypes came from who had what and how much of it. I really enjoyed analyzing this movie and I hope you enjoy reading my paper.
