Narrative

This paper was a little more difficult to write because it had a lot of different aspects I had to include in the paper. For example, my characters are teenagers in the 1980s so I had to think about how people spoke in the 1980s especially how teens spoke and what slang they used at that time. Also I had to think back to my previous paper to find out what was the most significant event that happened in 1985 that I could put as a back drop for the story I will be writing. Then I had to think about the clothing they wore so is could include it in my story since fashion was a very important part of the 1980s. Once I got the idea I wanted to do a little television drama type story and what characters I wanted to include I started to write finally after a lot of research and thinking on my part. I wrote the paper and the most difficult thing about writing the paper was trying to make my characters sound like the 1980s and making the story interesting at the same time. Also including the historical event was the trick without making the story seems too boring and factual because after all teens are my audience so I had to try and catch their attention somehow. I found that including a narrator in my story was a good way to include the event I wanted to surround the story on and tell the audience what was going on at the same time. In the end, I this essay used the most writing skills out of all the essays written in this class and it helped me use a little bit more imagination.
